Product Description The Journey Continues. Canon's new EOS Rebel T1i is packed with features, both refined and new. In addition to its admirable performance with an all-new 15.1 Megapixel Canon CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4 Image Processor, a 3.0-inch Clear View LCD with anti-reflective and scratch-resistant coating, and compatibility with the EOS System of lenses and Speedlites, the EOS Rebel T1i adds remarkable Full HD video capture at resolutions up to 1920 x 1080. An HDMI port allows for quick connections to high definition TVs and monitors for easy viewing of your stills and video. The entire operation is simple and easy even if you are a beginner. You'll have uncompromised EOS Digital performance with power and flexibility right in the palm of your hand. High Resolution Still Capture New 15.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor with DIGIC 4 Image Processor for faster processing of fine detail and natural color reproduction, 14-bit A/D conversion for smooth color tones and gradations. Canon's CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) sensor captures images with exceptional clarity and tonal range and offers the most pixels in its class. It offers many of the same new technologies as used by Canon's professional cameras to maximize each pixel's light gathering efficiency. Its APS-C size sensor creates an effective 1.6x field of view (compared to 35mm format). Canon's DIGIC 4 Image Processor dramatically speeds up all camera operations for intuitive operation and offers improvements in both fine detail and natural color reproduction. It works in concert with the EOS Rebel T1i's image sensor to achieve unprecedented levels of performance in all lighting situations. DIGIC 4 Image Processor With the EOS Rebel T1i, analog to digital signal conversion is executed by a 14-bit processor, which generates digital data with incredibly smooth tones. A feature that originally appeared in top-of-the-line pro digital SLR cameras, the 14-bit conversion gives incredibly smooth transiti

Great starter DSLR September 10, 2010 Veronica I'm a newbie to the DSLR world. That being said the Canon T1i was a great camera for me to start out with. I bought one through Amazon 2 months ago and have loved it since. The quality of the pictures is great, the feel of the camera works very well with me, and the value of the camera is amazing compared to other comparable models.
I needed a bit of a learning curve to move into an SLR after using point and shoots for SO many years. I'm still learning the fine points of photography but it's been an easy learn with this camera.
Value wise I got the camera, a telephoto lens, an 8 gig memory card, and the canon backpack for just under $793. This package priced at my local Best Buy would have cost me just under $1200 with tax. Amazon seems to have prices far lower than most big box stores if you're looking to buy one.
Since I've had the camera I've had nothing but great things to tell people about it. It's very easy to learn/use, it takes as good a picture as you get it to take.
I'm very happy with this camera and plan on learning more about it and it's other lenses to get the most of it as I can.

Perfect upgrade from the XTi. September 9, 2010 Caitlin Gipson (Lafayette, IN USA) I have only had the T1i for one day, so I can't give you all the ins and outs, ups and downs of this product. But so far, I am in love. The first thing I noticed was that overall, the T1i body is VERY similar to the XTi body. With the exceptions of a larger screen (and the button placement changes because of that) and a repositioned ISO button, everything is very similar.
The battery charges very quickly, and if it is anything like my other canon batteries, it will hold a charge for a very long time.
The screen is large and displays everything, including the menu, gorgeously. The menus themselves are easy to navigate.
The video feature would be great for interview or vlog style videos. Focusing while recording can be very loud (even with USM lenses) so as long as you're focused on one fixed point and you stay there, you should be fine. (Not to mention that trying to record any heavy action at 30fps isn't going to produce the greatest quality.) This SHOULD NOT be your main video setup. It's not equipped for that, and if that's why you're purchasing this camera, you're better off with a different model.
I will most likely update this later with a more extensive review, but for 1 day out of the box, I am very happy with my purchase.
Great Camera September 9, 2010 Johanna & Todd We bought this camera in order to get better picture quality than our regular point and shoot digital camera and it is amazing. The camera is very user friendly and so far, we have not had any issues with battery life. We are not professionals, so this review will not have a bunch of technical lingo in it, but all we can say is that this was a wonderful purchase. So far, we have not found anything about the camera that we dislike. We would definitely reccommend this camera to anyone who is looking for beautiful pictures in multiple settings.
Rebel it is September 8, 2010 Sanket Rebel it is .... It is perfect DSLR body to have ... not very expensive ... has got the advanced features like the Video an live view ... So save some money in the body as compared to buying a T2i and buy better lenses .. my2cents - Sanket
Good Camera for the money... September 7, 2010 V. Florea Very good camera for the money, but not with IS lenses... if you want good picture quality by USM lenses, easy to use, very light camera for DSLR. I have this camera for almost 1 year and the battery life is very good. I would recommend T1i to a friend if you look for camera about 600-800 $...
