GREAT shipping. The stands and backgrounds are good products. The stand bag is BAD -- the zippers separated and cannot close the bag.

These lights are big, but the 85 watt CFL bulbs are not as powerful as made out to be. I got this setup to do product photography for eBay/my website. I found that when pointed away from the item (their intended use) they did not reflect enough light back to get a decent shot even when the lights were very close. I started trying to figure out a way to make these work and noticed that the umbrella is actually two layers. The inside one is white and the outside one is black. I ended up removing the black layer and flipping the lights around so they point directly at the item I'm trying to shoot. The white layer of the umbrella diffuses the light, and it is still strong enough to light the shot. The umbrella layers are easy to put on and take off without damaging anything.
If I had not been able to jury rig this setup these lights would not have had adequate performance. Overall I was surprised that the quality of the stands. They seem very adjustable and fit together nicely. One thing I noticed is that the part of the stand that allows the bulbs to tilt comes loose sometimes and needs to be adjusted. This doesn't pose any real problem. The items I'm shooting are small (faucets, sinks..etc), but I would not recommend these lights for large items let alone portrait shots.
**EDIT** I should point out that I am using a cheap point and shoot camera with minimal manual settings. I have been able to adjust the settings so they work well with my setup, but people with nicer cameras can probably do it better thus making the lights a better value.

Fast shipping, comes in a duffle-type bag with tough re-usable boxes. The bag's zip has broken after being used three times. I agree with a previous buyer that the umbrellas are too dim to reflect all the light sufficiently. The lamp holder seems strong, but angle of the umbrellas is kinda limited by the screw which tightens the head to the stand. However, it is solid enough and does the job with some fiddling. The end knob of one umbrella has fallen off.
The quality is more than acceptable for the money; not a huge amount of light but the bulbs run cold so it's a comfortable inside shoot. The stands are sturdy and adjustable with spring-loading to help extension. The bulbs are calibrated to 5600deg, and my Leica concurs.
Overall a good value. I am very happy with my purchase; it does what it says.

The stands, fixtures and bulbs are good enough. The problem is the umbrellas. They're not very reflective -- they basically kill the brightness of the bulbs-- and one of them broke on the first use. Very flimsy, very bad quality.

I ordered the lights and got a fast email from them saying that the UPS paperwork had been filed and then heard nothing. The tracking information did not change. I contacted CowboyStudio to find out what was happening and was told that the double bulb holders were on order and would be coming in anytime now. This is not acceptable. Not only does the amazon store still say that the item is "in stock" they did not inform me that there would be a delay in shipping. I may have been willing to wait if I had been informed but to not say anything and the site still saying that the item is in stock is what prompted me to pen this review...........
